We manage a herd of Spanish-Boer meat goats that hail from a large closed herd in Choteau, Montana. While some Boer genetics are within the herd, they are dominantly Spanish. The Spanish goat is a landrace and varies in appearance. The goats range in weight from 50–200 pounds, with the largest animals representing strains that have been selected over many decades for meat production. Some of our goats possess an almost cashmere like winter coat that can be shorn and used for production of textiles. We breed our goats with bucks solely from their original herd in Choteau to as to retain the level of purity and herd characteristic that they arrived to us with.
We sell neutered male goats (wethers) as locally sourced meat. Contact us at verdurepastures@gmail.com for availability and prices.
